The first pieces Steve created were small collages and some pieces made to look like Chicago CTA “L” Subway station signs. It’s the CTA station sign artwork that first got Steve some recognition by galleries and the press alike. The “L” station signs have been featured in various digital and print publications such as Daily Candy, Etsy, ArtSlant.com, theFancy.com, Gapersblock.com, NewCity, VenusZine, Not For Tourists, Chicago Tribune, The Reader, and RedEye. Not bad for a kid from Merrillville, IN.
Today, Steve is constantly experimenting and learning various techniques, creating pieces of work using a variety of mediums like acrylic paint, pen, paper, wood, photography and all sorts of vintage ephemera. His goal is to create pieces that tell short stories while visually stimulating the viewer. Oh, and do it at a price that’s affordable.
